One of the simpler, yet still tasty soup recipes from my mom!
Ingredients
- 4 Smoked ham hocks
- Sweet corn (white, yellow, or creamed are all good)
- About 5 16 oz cans
- 5 whole eggs
- Black pepper
- White pepper
Instructions
Part 1: Ham Hock
- Heat water to simmer, then add some salt
- Add the ham hock
- Meat can be purified like in previous recipes
- Strain out any brown foam as needed
Part 2: Build Soup
- Add sweet corn to soup
- If canned corn, add the extra liquid for more corniness!
- Add eggs to soup
- Separate egg whites and yolks
- Add water and beat to thin them
- Pour portion of egg in while stirring soup
- Add generous amount of black pepper and white pepper
- Let soup simmer for another few hours uncovered
- Serve the soup over white rice
